Yoga Spring provides a peaceful setting where you can nurture your body, open your heart, and quiet your mind. We practice continuous breath and body awareness and approach our postures with compassion and acceptance.


And as your practice deepens beyond physical movement, you'll come to know the connectedness, awareness, and love that is yoga.

Breath-Centered Yoga Basics

Yoga Spring's teaching format encourages students to choose from a variety of specific-focus sessions, workshops, series, and events. You can choose or request offerings that most directly speak to your heart, interest, needs, and budget.


Whenever I visit Seattle, I practice with Jeanne. I love her instruction and it's a travel ritual I would never miss!

Sequencing

Postures are sequenced in a simple, elegant, and harmonious order to create an integrated practice. Whether it's a slow-paced, grounding YIN sequence, or stronger poses mindfully grouped to develop muscle tone, you'll be offered modifications throughout class so you can adapt your practice to your body and what it needs on that day. 


Anyone can realize the quiet mind and balance of yoga. I invite you to step onto your mat and see where your practice takes you.

Yoga Spring classes (and private instruction) are suitable for most individuals who are mobile and have an overall basic level of physical fitness. Potential new students who may be working with physical issues, challenges or injuries, please contact me prior to attending so we can gauge if the class or session will be a beneficial yoga option for you.

A PERFECT PAUSE

It's a few days past Christmas, yet not quite New Year's...it's the Perfect Pause between holidays to find quiet, regroup, and relax in grounding, basic YIN poses. Tension begins to release with your first mindful breath. 


We'll stay close to the earth as we breathe and move through postures that bring mobility to joints, relieve tense muscles, and further flexibility.  


Purchase both December 29 & January 26 classes at a savings: $30.

Yoga With Friends

Have you ever considered treating your friends to a yoga class? Or maybe your co-workers or book club would like to learn and/or practice yoga together. How about your wedding attendants? We can create the yoga program that speaks to the interest, intent, concerns, schedule and budget of your group.  

Private Sessions

If you prefer instruction in a private setting and sequences designed specifically for you, please contact me. We'll discuss your desired yoga focus, length and number of classes, schedule and fee. For example, your intent may be to improve your balance. Or perhaps a quieting evening flow designed to release muscle and mind tension for a good night's sleep.

About Instructor Jeanne Startzman, CYI, RYA

Yoga Background and Philosophy

In my twenties, I discovered the joy and benefits of yoga and practiced several years. I came back to yoga 15 years ago, and know that my practice will be life-long. In 2009, I was compelled toward a deeper study of yoga and became a certified yoga instructor to share with others the harmony of a mind-and-body connection.


Now, as the owner and instructor of Yoga Spring, I currently teach Instruction and Inspiration, a format of private and semi-private sessions, specific-focus group workshops (such as Build Your Yoga House and The Benefits of Balance), and a grounding YIN sequence each last-Saturday of the month.


Through communication, adaptations, and modifications, I believe that anyone can do yoga. Each student is unique, as is each day they practice. I meet students "where they are" and together we step onto the mat to gently move toward well-being and a peaceful, quiet mind. 


Yoga with Jeanne is a relaxing interlude in my otherwise full schedule. I have a feeling of peacefulness come over me the minute I walk in the studio. Cindi C., Lynnwood, WA

Training

200-hour certification, trained in the Viniyoga tradition. 


Continuing education has included a five-day examination of optimal health with Gary Kraftsow (an internationally known educator in the Viniyoga lineage), and consistent participation in Whole Life Yoga's various Yoga for Yoga Teachers classes that examine in-depth, specific yoga principals. For example, Expanding Your Awareness Through Backbends, Yoga for Low Back Pain, and Yoga for Anxiety and Depression.


Other recent yoga and well-being education efforts include Inclusivity Training for Yoga Instructors, Strength Training for Adults, and Fall Prevention.


I truly appreciate Yoga Spring. Thank you Jeanne! As a golfer, my overall flexibility has improved, and specifically, my driving distance has improved by at least 15 yards...Yeah Baby! Mike G., Kirkland, WA
